While I am sure there exist more elaborate security alarm systems, for the price and simplicitity this product is hard to beat. I only wanted something to let me know if someone comes in through our back door when I or my wife are at home.

I placed the sending unit on a shelf facing the back door in the laundry room and the receiving unit in the bed room. Every time the back door opens the receiver chimes loudly enough to wake me up. No false alarms either.
